GTG 1916 Matte Proof Lincoln

Many years ago this coin put me on the path of building a matte proof Lincoln set.
Wish I had bought the 1909 VDB back in those days. PCGS graded this one 20 something years ago.

I always enjoy seeing that coin ldhair.

 

Very nice Lincoln.

 

Looks like a cut on the reverse and I'm not a fan of the spots. Still, it's a technical gem. These 1916s are the best engravings, too, in my opinion. Spectacular color.

 

I wonder why there are no takers or guess's on the Lincoln lD.

Maybe a bump will help.

 

PCGS gave it 65RB.

I was at 64 rb

 

I was thinking 64RB because of the spots, but PCGS looked past those because of the general eye appeal.

 

Those early Abe proofs are a thing of beauty.
