An elephant and a Zebu walk into a bar. The Elephant tells the Zebu..."Here, have some peanuts from the peanut bowl." The Zebu says, "No thanks, I'm watching my weight." The elephant replies, "Come on, don't be a square."

Hahahaha...a square, get it? A square? Uhm, no? Never mind. Look at what I purchased today!:D

Good VF. Light toning in devices.

It's admittedly a bit bright for my tastes, but I'm sure it will look great once it picks up a little toning over time. I've been looking more towards the east lately to bring a little variety to my Eurocentric ancient coin collection...and I think this one will fit nicely with my goal of diversifying my collection.

It is Bactrian, it has Greek text on it, but Indian-style themes with the elephant and the zebu, not to mention the square shape.

So, what do you guys think? About the coin, not my sense of humor, ok?

Thanks for reminding me, I forgot to post it, but it's been fixed now. It is between 180 BCE and 160 BCE.

Nice addition. If those are the sellers pictures, the coin itself may be a bit darker. I've noticed that a lot of sellers either use too much light or photoshop the image afterwards. Oh and what joke? there was a joke in there? jk.

Very nice find - you don't see these coins so "perfect" very often. I've only handled a few, but I would call them billon. Icerain is right, it is probably darker in hand, although yours appears to be of fairly good silver.

So I related your joke to my Baktrian drachm... it didn't seem amused. I told it to lighten up, but perhaps it just didn't get the joke. As you can see, it's not too bright ... :wacky:

An elephant and a zebu walk into a bar and order a couple of beers. "That will be $20," says the bartender. "You know, we don't see many elephants and zebus in here." The elephant says, "Well at these prices, no wonder."
