Yes just wondering everyones opinion on how this could have been done..and if any chance it coming from the mint as is? Newbie here so please be kind with your comments thanx

Honestly, looks like an attempted "squeeze Job"???

 

That is what occurs when you place a coin on a railroad track and allow a train to pass over it.

Not a mint error of any kind.

 

Here's one thats been run over by #89 at the Strasburg Railroad

 

Wait! Weight! From the edge picture it may be silver.
Clad quarter weighs 5.67 grams
Silver quarter weighs 6.25 grams

 

The elongation of the coin does seem to show that it was squeezed in a lateral motion. The marks on the coin suggest it was done on a well used rail.
I would claim it as a Railroad token.

Wish that was true but some of the copper coating is still visible in the pictures,nice thought,you never know!!.
