Is this just zinc rot or something in addition?

Zinc rot on the rim. Should it be called rim rot? Lol I have a few like that.

 

The Copper plating was exposed on the rim affecting the inner zinc core in that spot.

Nothing else. No mint error of any kind..

I've detected worst looking copper plated zinc cents.
They are horrible when left to the elements for a long time

 

These are zinc cents. You can still see a few letters on them if you look closely.

 

Those look like ancient zincs!! Lol

 

Welcome to CT @Pennywise4040. Those that have been on CT for a while, know how much I detest those lousy Zincoln cents. You are showing perfect reasons why.
