1978 nickel with no mint mark and clipped planchet

Is this normal for a 1978 nickel? I can't find anything online and my books do not have this type of Jefferson nickel. I'm guessing it is normal but I'm not sure.

Looks like a clip with a slight "blaksley effect" on the opposite rim!!

Check ebay to see what nickels with similar sized clips go for. Nice catch but now you're on to nickels? Needed a break from penny boxes huh lol

 

I certainly understand it's easy to forget such things, but sometimes the simplest course of action is also the right one.

 

Actually, that's one my husband had in pocket change. I like a break sometimes too though!

um its not quite 40 years old yet. I just turned 38 today and was born in 78...dont make the nickel and I older than we are and yes it is cool to find a clip that has been in circulation for 38 years nice find.
