1971 penny date

    Hi all I have a 1971 penny where on the date the 7 & 1 are big just wondering what would cause that or is it die deterioration ? Thanks everyone trying to learn all I can. 1971 penny date.jpg 1971 penny obv.jpg 1971 penny rev.jpg

    The date took a hit. So did the rim near the date. The rim took another hit above GOD in the motto, moth to mention that large scrape on the reverse. All signs of circulation damage.
