My son was at daycare and found a penny to bring to me cause he sees me looking at coins and said Daddy I found a penny with a s you like those so proud
That's funny you said that been looking at one to buy I live in Florida close to the beach little guy would never wanna leave the beach if we found a coin
Haha, awesome!! Inversely, I get excited when my grandmother texts me and says she found a wheat cent. She enjoys finding them for me.
This is the one I bought my 5 year old grandson. We actually just went detecting with it this past weekend. I can't recommend it enough. It actually works well. It has a happy face with a green light that shows a good signal. And a sad face with a red light on a bad signal. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08L6SC89Z/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
@Chris lefave . You might want to look into something specifically for the beach. Something made just for sand. You might want to ask @paddyman98 for a suggestion as I've been out of the "loop" for several years. I still have a White's detector that I bought in 2000 that works excellent.
I don't agree with the sad face red light signal. It's teaching the kids incorrectly In metal detecting when we see certain low numbers they could mean the following.. On my Vanquish 440 15 = Pull Tabs But it is also for Nickels - V Nickels, Buffalo Nickels and Jefferson Nickels 8-14 = Aluminum Foil But those numbers are also for GOLD! My rule is.. Dig everything! A good day at the beach for me..
Nice @paddyman98 , but what would be good for a small child? Would a Garrett be okay or do you recommend something else?
At 4 years old I don't recommend anything to complicated yet.. Maybe at 8 - 10 years old they could swing a Fisher F22. We got one for our nephew a few years ago. He loves it.
I agree. I was taught to dig all targets and to check the hole again after finding the target. There can be more than one thing in the hole.
THAT is exciting!! Love the excitement and the NY accent, lol! I love when you share photos and video!
I once found about 20 wheat cents in the same hole. I was laying down under a big bush trying to dig.
Of course I think he likes looking at coins more then I do and I'm ok with that he keeps a 1913 buffalo nickel with him for the last six months he has to have it with him he wakes up in the morning and when he gets dressed the coin goes in his pocket it's his lucky coin
