Bad luck? What could possibly happen if you remove it? It's a slight misaligned die strike and a bit of finned rim.
Beautiful looking coin. I don’t see any reverse photos but I would make sure those staples are crimped down. If they are raised and you try to remove the coin it may scratch the coin. Happy Birthday Kristine!!
Kristine take another look at your coin. Notice the square wire rims. This is only an attribute if proof coins. In this instance the no MM is a proof coin and not a Philly. Yours also looks to have a slight cameo appearance. https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin/1963-1c-cam/83401
it IS a proof coin. Philadelphia minted them for a few years in the 50s and 60s. I don't remember the exact dates, sorry.
Yup, those staples need to be pinched down with pliers. I just had that feeling when I first replied.
