I know people are hoarding 1982 Washington quarters and they're getting harder to find but here's my question is there any significance to the word Liberty on the obverse that is stamped on the rim also? I read somewhere that its common for 82s to be like that but don't you have to have an off center that quarter does not look like it's off center or is this a myth thank you very much. Oh looks like the limitation came apart between the rim and the field at 10:00 and 11:00 o'clock

Liberty is not "stamped" on the rim. Extreme die deterioration causes the peripheral devices to spread toward the rim.

@expat said it well, I agree. There are several anomalies on the 1982 Quarter but few concrete errors. Thanks for sharing.

I'm curious why. You can spend your quarter though.

That quarter is worth exactly 25 cents.

I guess because there weren't any mint sets issues in 1982 and 1983, so high grade UNC is supposedly difficult. But... you're not going to find an MS67 in your change.

I too ‘hoard’ the 82 & 83 quarters in MS. A couple each in about 62/63. One in my album is solid 65. Doubt I’ll ever improve that one. Would cost a couple steak dinners. Ain’t gonna do it.

I once had to pass up on a 10 to 12 pack bunch of commemorative sets at a pawn shop, from 81 to 85, they were mostly 82 and 83. At $10 a piece they were a steal.
