I’ve got a thing for capricorn coinage, having been born under that astrological sign, so…

LM, I don't collect ancients, except for some Ptolemaic. But I look at your two ancients pictured and think to myself: These are two beautiful coins.

absolutely beautiful... about the only reason I don't collect ancients is I can't afford even some of the cheapest of the nice ones and I not fond of collecting slugs :D

Saw that! Wish I had that one with the sphinx, but the capricorn is special to me, for reasons mentioned above. (I don't set any store by astrology, but I've gotta be loyal to my star sign, y'know...)

Very nice! I actually got another in the same auction (just two lots earlier), though of a slightly less interesting type:

I dunno, that’s a pretty darn cool looking reverse! Equally interesting, I’d say. I like the continuous chain of lettering going completely around the obverse, too.

Less interesting? I don't think so. All coins shown are more than interesting.

Fantastic addition, @lordmarcovan, congratulations! You will probably already know that the astrological sign of Augustus was the capricorn, so you have that in common with him :)

Coin is in hand now, and looks better than the photos. It’s off to NGC soon. I’ll try to remember to post their Photovision pics once those are done.
