The US Mint getting more greedy every year. The cry babies who cry about Not able to get their set are just lazy and expect everything goes their way. To me the Mint should limit everything. If you don't get up early to order it, then that is your faults when it is a SOLD OUT issues.
I think the US Mint should cut the limit even it say 75K mintage. They should just Not put a mintage when they put it for sale. Then within a month they should put it off the sale list.
I bought one. No issues with the website. I'm guessing that the 75k mintage made it easy to get orders in lol
They did the mint to demand thing before, ended up with a lot of canceled orders. Its funny how a low mintage everyone wants it and complains they couldn't get it, a high mintage so everyone can get it and no one cares
An actual spit take and a shake of the head. It's 14.95!! Is that even really safe worthy? If so, where to put the IPA sixer or bottle of Jack while I am away during the day. The Jack ain't mine.
I meant that I didn't want to keep buying these mint offerings just to buy them. The constant negativity and putting people down on this site is starting to wear thin.
My post wasn't meant to put you down, I just thought it was funny that you thought a $14.95 item would take up safe space.
Someone on MintNewsBlog is estimating 8,100 orders in 7.5 hours => potentially 40k sets sold, which would be inline with 2015 sales. We should get better numbers tomorrow.
Today's sales report shows 24,497 sold through yesterday - about half of last year's sales. Time to remove the household limit and if that doesn't sell it out, reduce the mintage to 50k or less.
Ordered 5 sets along with my National Parks Commemoratives to minimize the per item costs on overnight shipping. Which brings me to a major gripe. I ordered at exactly 12 noon. Paid promptly. Paid for over night shipping only to find out that they don't really "ship" overnight orders on a Thursday regardless of when you order. It shipped Friday Morning and arrived this morning. Oh well, I guess I tossed $3.00 out the window. It won't happen again. The bills in my sets are all 000 serial numbered bills. The coins are wedged super tight into the air tight which I can only assume was intended for generic Sacagawea's. Proof and Enhanced Uncirculated coins use the 3 piece collar for the edge lettering which creates a raised ridge where the collar pieces meet.
