I am trying to find out if my nickle is the 3 legged type or if it is not?

First tell me the date, then I'll tell you.

With this in mind ( :) ), if the date is correct it presents the proper configuration for the real deal. Numismatics is a game of precision, and eddiespin is the most precise cynic in the building. :)

You're ruining my bad reputation, Dave. :D It does look good for the real thing, though. And good-looking coin. :)

We can't have that. I'll make a point of flaming you the next chance I get. :)

I heard something "cute" in an ANA Counterfeit Detection Seminar. The instructor (Brian Silliman) told students "If the Buffalo is pissing the leg is missing."

Why is the image from craigslist and not your own photo - unless it's you're own photo that happens to be pasted on Craigslist?

It always makes me wonder when photos come from strange sources.

I think I see slight image of a fourth leg in that photo. It could just be the photo, but I think I see the faint outline of another fourth leg. Did you buy this coin raw?
I am not casting aspersions but after last guy who got mint condition 3 legged 37-D for $50 I am wondering if we have an outbreak of 3 legged coins. I have one that is graded and slabbed, but it is in a safe box now.

I think that coin is fake! Is this a test?

It's a question for the ages, no doubt... ;)

If I had to guess, he's probably either looking to buy (which would explain the lack of details) and wants the board to authenticate for him, or is looking to sell, perhaps was questioned, and wants verification. No harm either way...

With that said though, let's just hope it's not this one....

Notice the hind leg is moth eaten look I say it's real.

rzage What Goes Around Comes Around .

That's one diagnostic , another is the Indians neck is moth eaten also which the ops coin appears to be , but it also looks like it might have PMD in that area . I agree Paddy that it's real .

I think I won't be posting here again. Mind games are dirty business.
