I know how rare a DDO of one of these coins could be even though new to forum. I dont really think i have variety that would bring cash, I do this for pleasure, think i have a lesser variety and it just has the one marker in "L" on liberty that even makes me ask question. I feel like I have just looked at too many of my own coins too long and would like to hear the truth from someone else with more knowledge. Pics are crap because have a cheap phone right now. Anyone who could try and give me anything they can see in photos as far as I think it's Large date, possibly DDO and condition as much as pics will allow I'm thinking AU50. I'm sorry if I didn't follow format or posted in wrong forum.
Welcome to Coin Talk. There’s a lot going on with this coin…glare and wear…hard to tell. You need to provide close-ups of L/LIBERTY and the date for your questions to be answered…imo…Spark
The coin looks polished, so it wouldn't get a straight grade and any doubling would be pretty much worthless. The pictures are too blurry to tell anyway.
Troy you will have to get clearer photos. A little less light and stabilize your phone. There are 27 ddo's for the year. LOL I don't collect or very often even look at cents, but without good Full Image photos, it would be difficult for any of us to judge the coin. If you haven't already seen this: Try it. Also, this is something I usually post for new members, not knowing their level of knowledge or experience. For the best results, you should post "in focus," FULL IMAGE photos (after you upload your photo, two buttons appear: Thumbnail and Full Image, click Full Image and your photo appears full size on your post and are easily enlarged by clicking on it). Photograph coins on neutral backgrounds like black, grey, or white. Crop out superfluous background so just the coin shows (you can use https://www.remove.bg for free), and post photos with correct orientation so members don't have to turn their computer in some awkward fashion to view it properly. While it isn’t always necessary, it is nice to show both the obverse and reverse, even if your question is just about one side. Members can often give more valuable information having both sides to evaluate. Add close ups of areas you have questions about and make your questions as definitive as possible so we know what you are asking for. And try to have the best lighting possible to show the most favorable photo of the coin. Hope this helps in the future. Good luck. I hope this is helpful.
That was what I needed to hear. Thank you for any face to face embarrassment all yall saved me I would like to know how you can tell what it has been cleaned with(not being sarcastic). As for pics I have a iPhone 13 with a lot of my coin pics on them just got to figure out how to upload. I know that would make a major difference. I do have one more question what kind of loop, magnification tools or microscope do people use when looking at coins. Any answer would be appreciated
I send them to my email account. Then download them on the laptop. I use a 4x loupe, most use a 10x. Anything over 10 is not needed.
