This beauty has all 8 tail feathers. An 1878 and a nice variety. A total mintage of 749,500 are recorded in the Red Book. I have one of them.
Here's another one. It is raw and part of this set. There is actually a sixth coin to this set, which should have been included. It's the seven tail feathers, third reverse. I am not a Morgan Dollar connoisseur so all of these pieces are Mint State, but they are all in "collector grades." I cracked the 7 over 8 tail feather coin in this set out of an NGC holder many years ago. That was a mistake. It was graded MS-63, but it is a "C" coin (optimistically graded). I have another one that was in my inventory when I retired. Since no one would pay me a fair price for it at the time, I still have it.
Ooops. I darn near dropped my laptop computer as I had to use both hands to count all eight. LOL Nice coin.
Probably. You could Google it. Some Capital products, like the flannel pouches that protect the holders quite nicely, are not.
