Have been looking for a high quality $10 Indian to go with my $10 Liberty I just bought its a CAC, and so is this one, but it has a PQ designation as well sounds like a goo bonus what do you think.
That appears to be a really nice example for the 1926. A picture of the coin without all of the slab detail would be better. The 1926 is one of two very common dates with the 1932 being the second one. Those coins tend to get "optimistic grades" at times, but those piece appears to an exception.
Yeah, this is the first time I ever seen the PQ sticker, though I have heard the term many times before.
The “PQ” sticker might be a dealer creation. I used to put hand written ones on coins that I thought were nice for grade when I was a dealer.
I saw this on there website: Unfortunately due to COVID-19 we are unable to take in new requests for the time being. When we are able to take on new requests we will be updating our site accordingly. We apologize for the inconvenience. Not sure how current the information is...
I think I've told this story here before so at the risk of redundancy, here goes again. Early in my coin collecting I was attending the FUN show and was looking at several cases of extremely nice and high-end coins (might have been Angel D's) and a few had been tipped up at an angle with a hand-lettered sticker that said "PQ". I asked what that meant and he told me "Prom Queen" with a straight face. A little later I mentioned this to a local dealer I knew and he gave me the big horse laugh. "You dummy! PQ means "premium quality" not "prom queen". Rather than being embarrassed, I added prom queen to my numismatic vocabulary. It makes perfect sense both ways. After all, didn't everybody want to take the prom queen home?
Not here yet, still considering, I heard back from the dealer he has a 64 as well so taking a look at that one to
IF you want My Opinion (and it's worth just that) That 63 looks great, dare I say under graded. I looked up the cert to check another view but NGC didn't have one. If you can do a side by side comparison of the 2 coins? All the better if prices are comparable. Does the 64 have a green bean? OH. and Prom Queen for sure definitely going to use that when I see another PQ sticker.
I actually bought the 64 and yes it has the green bean and PQ sticker just like the 63 it was additional $500 to move up in grade but I think it was worth it, will post when it gets here
