Is it my eyes or the pic? Coin doesn't look round. Also invest in some plastic tongs so won't scratch the coin.
This rim is damaged on the front and back but not around the outside of the rim. That is why I thought planchette error.
Ever see that movie The Rock. Sean Connery is in an fbi interrogation room and uses his steel chair leg to smash one side of a coin down to score a 2-way mirror so he could break through it. I think that's what we have here although maybe not done in quite a cinematic fashion lol
Funny no one mentioned the die crack but the rest of it looks like it got mashed somehow, taking away any collectibility of the die crack. And yes, die cracks are errors.
With regard to the subject matter of the thread, No, it's not. As for the crack? Definitely within production tolerances although not necessarily desired.
I tend to disagree. Even if they technically fall into the error category, they are so common they fall into the who cares category. They only become interesting when they become full-on die breaks or are so numerous they look like a spider made its home on a coin. Aside from his brash and idiotic nature it's a big reason why I can't stand usmc60 threads. I get that we all have different tastes but I, for some reason, vehemently disagree with his entire collecting philosophy.
