yeah you know me... i recently picked these coins up from MAT.. a gallienus from lyons, just before postumus started making trouble in that neck of the woods. Gallienus (253 - 268 A.D.) AR Antoninianus O: GALLIENVS PF AVG, Radiate and cuirassed bust of Gallienus facing right. R: GERMANICVS MAX V, Two captives seated at foot of trophy. Lyons Mint 258-259 A.D. 22mm 3.64g RIC V-I, 17. and an alexander iii initiative celtic coin, had one of these on my list... CELTIC, Lower Danube, Uncertain tribe. 2nd century B.C. AR Drachm O: Head of Herakles wearing lionskin headdress knotted at throat, right. R: Zeus enthroned holding eagle. 17mm 3.42g Lanz 939 mat's photography is better than mine, and TIFF made this interesting note in MAT's original post...looks like zeus might need someone to hold his hair...
Way cool @chrsmat71 !!! Those are really interesting 'types'...certainly a Gallienus reverse I am still missing and I have to love the Celts and their strangely familiar drinking binge aftermath LOL What??? No turtles???
