This caught my eye at a coin shop I decided to check out for the first time this weekend. $85 didn't seem too bad right off the bat with it being a better date, but the dealer offered it to me for $75 since it was my first time there. It is very lustrous for a peace dollar and has nice eye appeal to me so I decided to get it. In my opinion the toning is nice (as long as it is natural.) Fields have that "fresh original strike look" when viewed with a loupe. The mark on the eagle's wing feathers and neck may hurt it a bit though.... Would enjoy to hear any opinions you may have on this coin, good or bad! PEACE! (no pun intended)

I like the toning. It is rather typical toning for Peace Dollars, which do not, as a rule, generate monstrous rainbow toning. The coin is, overall, desirable. It is well struck, with not too many hits. Probably would grade AU 53-55, as my guess. There is some rub at the higher points.

On the devices I don't see circulated wear in hand on the high points that would warrant it as low/mid AU. The luster is strong and uninterupted. I tried to take some close ups to show the high points. There are several contact marks that will hurt the grade for sure but personally I believe this to be an uncirculated mint state coin. I respect any and all opinions and I am by no means an expert and admit I could very possibly be incorrect but I'm thinking maybe a 62 or 63???

Could very well be, but I don't think I'd spend the money to find out. Just me.

Doubtful, as it is a $200-300 coin in low MS, and no coin dealer would sell a MS 1935 Peace Dollar for $75. That would be a coin that they’d know the value.
