Is it all mint luster like it seems? Got to be an EF or AU, presuming it's not a fake (I wouldn't know).

    My red book is 2015.

besides the luster, why do 20160617_232936.jpg the pennies on the top row differ from the bottom penny, what makes the pennies on the top row become that way?

As I thought about this, the question became harder. I have coins that have been said to be cleaned because they look like this.

But if this is pocket change, and the surface structure has not been altered by mechanical or chemical cleaning, then what made them so dull?

And if some look like this due to a natural process, may we be too hasty in designating all flat-looking coins as Cleaned?

Thumb print when I put it in the album sixty years ago. Too young to know better.

yes it is pocket change if you consider coin rolls pocket change. i never would have thought about them being cleaned. So what i think your saying if it was naturally altered, it would just be dull? Reason being, is because i have a 1909 vdb that looks the same way but is really smooth and no surface scratches.
