    What are your stories?

My best trade was when I was doing the American hustle with a kid at college trying to peddle off my unneeded large cents at 30% PCGS values.
Brought a bag of nasty looking Roman coins too.
The dude saw one that was actually ID'able.

Ended up trading the Roman for a very delicious meal at one of the world-famous UCLA dining halls :)

Once I traded 2 Morgans for a bottle of Wild Turkey. I also traded a Quarter Eagle and a Half Eagle for rent. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Once traded a 1970 No S Proof Roosevelt for a Perth Mint 1 oz gold bar.

At the height of silver in 2011, we once parked in a parking garage downtown. The computer system was down and were only accepting cash. Which I didn't have any of. What I did have though was a BU 1964 Kennedy. The parking fee was 20.00. I paid 50 cents.:p

Found a guy trying to cash a jar of mostly silver at a CoinStar. I wanted to offer him fair value, but didn't have enough cash. What to do?

Well, the grocery store sold gift cards, and I could pay for those with a credit card. So that's what I did -- $200 worth of grocery credit for his coins. He was so happy that he threw in a few silver dollars. One of them turned out to be a 1928-P. :)

I once found a silver Cuban 10 cent piece in the reject tray. Just silver value alone must have made you a rich man...

Maybe backwards from the idea of the thread, but at the height of the Hunt run-up in 1980 I traded 350.00 face in junk silver that I had picked up at face from a convenience store where I had worked during collage for the house I raised my family in.

Now if only you'd flipped it back into silver during the real-estate run-up, but before the latest silver run-up... :)
