@Minanius. How much did you pay for this roll?
I'm guessing that it's been "seeded".
Open it and you'll see. ;)

I bought it for like $140, but I didn't open it, and I'm just returning it. I'm just gonna not buy rolls on eBay anymore.

Gotta love the '1943' copper ender in his listing photo. Nice marketing ploy.

Guaranteed not a OBW or roll....
Most rolls of coins came from the Federal Reserve bank now sub out to vendors to wrap.

Banks back in the day would buy bags and roll their own coins for commerce. As said above the true original rolls came from the Federal Reserve branches. And most of those have been checked and rerolled.

I had the same problem when i was first collecting. I had bought a "roll" of Morgans. Fortunately, I saw something on Cointalk that alerted me that it was a scan. I was lucky that he cancelled the order and I thanked him for it. As my Grandfather told me, I was a sharp as a marble. (I hope you know what he meant. I was 5 when he told me and I was 10 before I realized what he said.)

I think the two ender coins look alright, as far as steelies go. Kind of hard to tell, but they look like original surfaces.
As far as the roll goes, Bank of America was a [relatively] small bank in Los Angeles at that time. Though this is what their logo looked like at the time, and I would think a stamp would have the correct font.

EDIT: It looks like the stamp does say "San Francisco" at the bottom. So a SF branch by 1943 wouldn't be out of the question. It's not my $140, but I say open it.

    Return to sender.
Original, unsearched rolls advertised on any coin based site is a lie. I don't care what the wrapper says.
Now, if you bought it at an estate sale, and it, along with a few other old coins, was in a bank wrapper, I would take a chance.

I don't think there are any real OBW.
They buy old wrappers and put their coins in there and jack up the price 10-20X. If you really had an OBW it's 99% that you would open it yourself instead of selling it. As there could be one or more monsters in there.

Almost every 1943 OBW I have seen or handled, has had a few discoloration specks and rust on the edges ( which you can't see until you open it, as the edges are exposed steel). I suspect these are not. IMO, Jim

Unfortunately, I tried to return because the seller said they accept returns. Then he filed an action with eBay customer service and they sided with him, so I'm out. I filed an appeal but still pretty screwed. I might have to take the loss here which sucks.

eBay only cares about the seller and their fees. It used to be a pretty good format for buying and selling but not so much anymore.

I agree with the above answers, most likely not original bank wrapped. Please post a follow up when you do open it, curious to see what all it contained.

Time to stop using eBay. Sorry about what your going through. You could leave bad feedback but I think the seller can block it. I’ve never purchased from eBay and I’ll keep it that way. I’ve found enough honest and reputable dealers to keep me happy. Hope you do too.

Possible, I think "could" needs to be the descriptive word.

There is no such thing as an original wrapped roll on ebay...

Once you return it whatever feedback is left disappears with the return.
