......so do I. I need a Tums! Fortunately or unfortunately, this coin is a member of the American coin family. Lots see yours. Whoever has the most bubbles wins. Why do I think @BadThad will be the winner here?!?! Come on guys, if we pull together we can beat him!
My guess is that they would be fairly stable if you don't mess with them and keep them protected. Ones in circulation will probably break open in time.
These remind me of the opening to the Shel Silverstien's poem titled "Sick"... "I cannot go to school today said little Peggy Ann Mcay. I have the measles and the mumps, a gash a rash and purple bumps"
Your house must look like mine, coins in every room. Under the bed, sofa, in the closets, every draw, in the shed, etc.. I can't find anything either. I knew I saw the 21D Mercury somewhere?!?! Only kidding. That's why I bought a coin inventory database. Now I know what I have (Denomination, Date, Photos, Condition, etc..) and where it is.
Damaged, IMO. As reactive as zinc is, I'm thinking lacquer-coating (shellac-based lacquer, not acrylic) coins ought to make a comeback. Bob, do you know if yours "turned" in the slab or were graded with the bubbles? It'd be an interesting insight into how the TPG's view them, and I'm honestly kind of surprised they straight-graded.
