Question about Overton Varieties

For the 1825 Bust Half, the Red Book shows 2,943,166 total minted with no varieties mentioned. The 1825 I just bought is an O-114. Does the Overton book attempt to estimate the number of each variety minted, perhaps through mint records? If not, does any other resource do so? How does this tie in with the "R" rating. Buying the book is on my bucket list.

The Overton book has "R" ratings. You might Email Sheridan Downey, a dealer in these coins, and ask his opinion as it will be more up-to-date. He helped me last week with what I thought might be a new die combo I discovered. Unfortunately, it turned out to be an errant photo in the edition of Overton I was using! :(

The 1825 O-114 is an R1 coin (i.e. "common") and the books don't mention specific numbers.

    R1 > 1000 examples known
    R2 500-1000
    R3 201-500
    R4 81-200
    ...
R8 1-3 (unique or nearly so)

Both the Parsley and Peterson books are excellent guides, however only the Parsley book also includes the Draped Bust series.
