Hello everyone I need help with this coin. The letter W in the word "we" seems to to be short. Could this be any type of error?
I can't tell from your pictures exactly what it is but I'm guessing it is either from a grease filled die or some Mechanical Doubling. Neither of which add any value.
Welcome to CT. I see nothing out of the ordinary, even after enlarging your photo. Just a little worn. Not an error.
@J Sanchez FYI - The use of a "Poll" is helpful when you are trying to learn something about the preferences of the voters. For example: "Which denomination is your favorite?" (Pick one) 1. Cent 2. Nickel 3. Dime 4. Quarter 5. Half Dollar 6. Dollar Since your poll is meaningless, I voted for both options. Chris
A rule of thumb is missing/small numbers/letters are indicative of damage, or wear to the die. Errors they are but not worth much if anything.
Why are you posting on this old thread? It has nothing to do with a 1955 Cent. Create your own unique thread with pictures. And.. The correct numismatic terminology is Doubled Die not double die. Big difference
No.. That just means they were minted at the Philadelphia Mint. They don't use the P Mint Mark on Cents except 2017. Only year they used the P Mint Mark.
