Post your New Old Canadian coins

    It looks like the coin has been cleaned, and not too well. You can see very shallow scratches/lines going all the way from the fields and through the design. I'm not a big advocate of "toned" coins because potatos, bread, manila envelops, or brown paper towels are too easy to come by .. all have high sulpher content and easily tone most Canadian silver.

    Every coin has a buyer. That's what determines marketability. But you just bought it. The only reason I'm selling my collection is that I'm 70 and want to sell them or give them to my heirs before I'm infected with Alzheimer's.

    Every coin has a buyer just like every house has a buyer. It depends on its fair market value, i.e., what a willing buyer and seller would accept as the coin's price.

    Picked up the XF45 Vicky for less than it would cost to grade it. Win-Win for me, as I'm putting together an XF set of 1858-1901 1C.

    Another piece of chocolate I picked up for the Vicky set. Looked at a few XF45s, settled on this much lovelier XF40. Honest, consistent wear always trumps a bump.

    thank you. same coin... just different lighting. I am guessing it will be the darker version. this coin is on it's way to me now. bought this off gbroke here.
