Relax, @noname. I think 7C was just kidding around, joining in the banter we enjoy on the Ancients board. :)

Fine he's fooling around, whatever, don't care anymore. But why make a joke that makes no sense, and has no relevance whatsoever?

CoinTalk is a global community. Sometimes what is funny to native English speakers isn't very amusing to non English speakers, and vice versa. Cultural differences can also affect humor and perception.

I'd rather occasionally read something that seems odd or irrelevant due to language and cultural differences than to be part of a board where humor is discouraged.

What do you mean by cultural differences? That's not relevant to me.

I'm 58 and picked up my first ancient, a fairly common Victorinus ant way back in junior high school. At that time I figured only rich people could afford ancients and in a world dominated by US coins, it was at least in my eyes a rarity. Serious pursuit of ancients started about one and a half years ago after a trip to Barcelona.

    Ah, but it should be!

See, there are people communicating and sharing our love of coins from around the world here, and some do not speak American English or have the same cultural norms.

I though TIF was assuming that I was from another country, I assumed 7calbrey was living in the US/Canada/UK/Australia, because it didn't say so on his profile.
