I haven't bought a silver dollar in years but saw this one and bought it just for the heck of it for 34$ - (I also bought a 35-S Peace Dollar but that will be another time). After looking at it under the scope I saw it had a few reverse die cracks. Now to me this looks like an AU coin because of wear on the very high points but why so bright? Dipped? Or a weak strike MS state? And although to me the die cracks are cool looking I do realize SDs are notorious for die cracks on them but would the cracks make this coin more desirable than just a 83-O without?
Now how come I take NO offense to being called a cracker? BUT it did make me open up my saltines and smother them with cream cheese - YUM!! Damn, can't get any better, crackers with cream cheese, going out to have a smoke, and wait to watch the Cavs game at 8:30!!
I agree with the low MS/high AU assessment. Die cracks by themselves are no big deal until they get really big and are classified as die breaks. Then they're sometimes a big deal.
