Silver's exciting to find though, in a "it's not supposed to be there, but it is there" kinda way. Like you I get just as excited at finding a new-looking wheat penny. Fun to wonder about what it spent the last 60 years doing... probably sitting in a coffee can in somebody's closet.

I don't mind finding silver, it's great. But it isn't my goal. I'm not in this for a buck. I'd much rather find an indian head penny than a silver Kennedy. Something with some age on it. :)

I got excited yesterday finding these 2 Canadian cents. Yeah they're not super old, but I pulled them out of US rolls. And they've got George on them.

Well it's been a good day of silver hunting here. I stopped by my dump bank to hand off last week's search this morning. While the teller was processing my coin counting receipt I asked if she had any "big dollars" or halves she wanted to get rid of. "Nope." As usual. As I was putting my receipt in my wallet she does mentioned that she "has some silver if you want it." Yes please. I left with $1.15 in face value silver - 3 Washington quarters (52-D, 64 (x2)) and 4 Roosevelt dimes (48, 48-D, 54, 64).

As far as searching today went, I ended up skunked on $48 CWR nickels and on $50 CWR dimes I pulled 4x Roosies (46, 48, 51, 59-D).

Total take for today: A little over 1.1 ozt for the princely sum of $1.55. I'm a happy hunter this afternoon.

Box of Halves....skunk. That's two in a row, lame. Did 3 boxes this week and only 2 keepers. There's always next week...

My luck of late has been extremely poor. The last three boxes of BWR cents weren't worth reporting. But I'll give the last box a dishonorable mention as it had 35 Canadians! :-/

Just 10 wheatbacks, the oldest two being 1941-P.

Of course my bank won't accept foreign coins back.

That is, imo, the heart of the true collector. Sure there are as may ways to collect as there are collectors, but I still love that find the fills a slot. Doesn't happen very often any more. Been collecting for 50+ years, but I still love that.
    Do like silver too though.

Finding the odd upgrades are usually rewarding too. :)

That's awesome you were able to stick it through that dry slump and still continue to coin roll hunt. I would have quit way before 17 boxes. My worst slump was getting skunked 5 boxes in a row, finding one keeper in my sixth box then getting skunked 5 boxes in a row after that. So one keeper in 11 boxes. That was when I first started CRH. Go figure.

box of cents from the bank.

    12 wheats

    3 Canadians

a few 1970S's that I have to look at to see if the 7 is high or low.

Searched a roll of cents, two rolls of nickels, a roll of dimes, and two rolls of quarters.

There was a 1957B silver certificate in the teller tray.
The rolls had one keeper (and a lucky one at that): a 1943-S silver war nickel. I'll post pictures later for your viewing pleasure.

    ALWAYS SEARCH CWR GUYS

FYI this is my first post on the forum. I'm really into roll searching, silver stacking, and collecting older US coins

Box of Halves...Skunk. Once again 70% of it was 1999D. Sometimes several full rolls in a row. Crap.

@Charles1997, that's a beauty for your first CRH Merc!

Probably nicer than *any* I've ever found. Be proud of her!

That's a good looking specimen. I found one a few months ago but it wasn't near the condition yours is in.
