    This reminds me of an 1885 VF V nickel I bought back in 1989, early in my collecting that had several tiny scratches where the "LIBERTY" motto was. I was dumb enough to pay $300 for it then sold it about 1 year later for $50.

    I probably sold it to you! Collecting coins since 1955 ! Seriously though, I noticed this when I was checking misc. collection I recently purchased. I noticed the wider than normal space between the tips of the wreath, and have not been able to find a reference to this.
