Excellent. Good choice with AU coins too, since they are about the same in price with xf and much reduced from Uncs. I got the same album going with problem free Vf and better. Only got 5 coins tho

 

Congrats. I have a uncirculated set going. I suspect it will take me a lot longer than 6 months to complete. Working on Walkers and commemoratives too, so I bounce around alot. When I get frustrated with the other 2, I can always find a nice Franklin to feed the habit. Again Congradulations, and I say that with envious expression.

 

Unless you're going for high MS or FBL, there's nothing too crazy. 53-S is insane in FBL. 49-D, 49-S go for a bit more than the others in just plain MS/non-FBL, but not insane amounts.

 

Well done, and a great idea to do a type set with the remaining holes.

 

Milestone! I'm in the "first set to complete" club as well. Since completing the first I've finished a second Dansco album and found an interesting Library of Coins Franklin album that's dated out to 1970 I filled with silver Kennedy halves.

I actually saw these on Coin Vault today. They were described as UNC, NOT MS and going for 49.99 + 9.95 S&H - I know, "What the heck are you watching CV for?" - well I always like to check in to see if they are still selling their 399$ 2016 Gold Mercs - and yes they are, so is everybody else. Seems to me about 95% of them were sold to dealers, or people thinking they were gonna make a killing - LOL - don't seem like they are selling or will ever be worth a premium. I think this shows that the other 2 gold coins in the series will be a total bust!!

 

I just noticed your album - I like it - is there such thing or was it made from separate pages? I'd like to get one!

 

This album actually exists. I'm guessing the print date was early 1963 since the mintage totals for 1962 are printed but 1963 and up are blank. I've been on the lookout for another since I found this one about 2 years ago.

 

Amazing album - I guess it isn't made anymore as yours was the first I've ever seen! Would love to get one but I don't see that happening - thanks for the showing!!!

Congratulations on putting together a Franklin set! I also like your half dollar Type additions to the five empty slots.

 

I realize this thread has been dormant for a while, but what would y'all say is the value of a set like this?
