Would like folks' opinions on grade, trying to figure out whether or not its worth having it graded. The Black at 10:30 on the reverse is actually a piece of plastic extending from the black plastic holder its int. This is one of the CC Uncs from the Mint, still in the plastic case with the box and COA.

@SuperDave - wuh-duh-ya-think about my photo LOL. Played around with the camera today...turned out pretty decent I think.

Easy 64 IMO, not really worth a submission unless you/others think it could go 65...but it's still a what, $250 or so coin...

Nice MS-63 with a few good die cracks. :)

Borderline submission....I see an average 64, otherwise a quite attractive piece with full original luster.

    I see a 63 , and a nice coin . But not worth sending it in .

I'd leave it in the OGP. More of a conversation piece that way PLUS having it graded would make it just another 63/64 graded 83-CC.

63 is my ceiling, viewed on my phone, but I don't trust a 5" screen when I have a 27" one at home. :)

Will look again in about 5 hours, and attribute it if nobody else has yet.

Classic 63. No need to grade as you'll get 63 money for it "raw"

I just noticed that die crack on the reverse , I love it .

It takes 130+ tons of pressure to fully strike these coins. Die cracks are as common as fleas on a mutt.

Frankly I think it is comparable to my 1883 CC MS64. Nice coin.

Looks like it's in the 5 family. I believe it's an lds of vam 5c. Which was just recently listed. This one has more cracks and a double neck clash.

I could see it at 64, nice coin and I enjoy the die cracks :)

I'm not big on Morgan's but I was thinking a possible VAM also. Would that make it worth having slabbed to make it more "Official" as a variety? ANAC is running a free shipping special at this time.

And the Greeks and Romans made beautiful high relief coins with a hammer . ;)

The VAM won't add a whole lot to the value, and it is probably worth more staying in the OGP than putting it in an ANACS slab.

NGC and PCGS put their grading labels on the OGP. ANACS doesn't?

Not to my knowledge. NGC is the only one that puts their grading label directly on the OGP slab. PCGS puts the entire OGP slab in their own slab. It looks kind of dumb.

Now that's funny , a slab inside another slab and huge ones at that . ;)
