Is it an error to have no mint mark on a Kennedy 1776-1976 200 year freedom half dollar?

Take a look at the 1999 possible double ear here that I posted earlier. See if you can tell.

No, it's 40%. It could look like that, but it could look like a standard 40%er.

BTW, that's called a Bicentennial Half.

Not aware of the 1999 double ear, just the 1984. Looks like there might be something there but maybe a penny expert here can help you out.

Love the penny and cent collector quote! Lol! I was calling them pennies for a long time!

Me neither. That is why I find it odd.

Pennies are British/English, Cents are American. I collect both, hence, penny and cent collector.

That's cool. I just like it because I had to be corrected for calling the cent a penny. Lol. Now I know the difference!

If only my in-laws would know the difference, despite me trying to teach them.

Aside from war nickels, the year when the P started appearing is 1980 (1979 on SBA dollars). It does not appear on cents.

I have not looked at all the different types of coins yet in there. I have the 2016 guide.

It would be unwise to search "just for silver" as there are many valuable CnClad coins in the Kennedy Series.

Only if you're interested in varieties. I personally have little interest and looking at every coin for a No FG or DDO makes it excruciating for me, whereas looking for silver is fun.
With that said, I do save clad 1987s and proofs. And unc hole fillers but I only have two BU clad holes left.

The only non-silvers I keep or look for are the S mint marks. I may someday want to make a Kennedy set and those seem to be the most difficult to get. Lon didn't you get a newer silver S mint once?
