    The coins I bought/have are ........
2006-W American Silver Eagle 3 pc 20th Anniversary Set MS70, PR70, PR70UCAM NGC (Paid $900.00) The lowest price I saw on Ebay is $999.00.

I received my 2 gold mercury dimes yesterday & really like them.
I also really like the packaging & not even sure if i will send them in to be graded.

I would NEVER cheapen a coin buy having it gold plated.
I either buy .999/.9999 silver or gold.

That's like the 4th time you've stated that you've received the gold mercs.

Did someone get a couple for $220 ?
I'd buy one at that price if I was looking.

Good for you. Glad you like them. I however see absolutely nothing positive about them aside that they have a design that represents a classic us coin. But even that was poorly executed

    And, fyi, it's not a coin ;)

Those are pretty easily found on Ebay for well under that price - in my search, half of the NGC/PCGS sets actually sold went for less than $900. However, selling prices vary widely, as would be expected for an item which bases its' value solely on the opinions of buyers who may not be well-educated on the subject rather than any actual rarity or demand from knowledgeable collectors. There are fools who paid that much for individual coins in the set, as well.

It's a speculative market where those who pay the most, know the least.

I wish this site would put the caps key off limits -- that is, if one wishes to keep their membership.

This place attracts more folks who have no clue how to use the Internet than any other forum I've ever participated on. One just has to be patient, and willing to teach them the appropriate etiquette.

I was taught etiquette at an early age by a mother and father who would kick tail over rudeness.:woot:

  19. Cascade... In all due respect, I think the U.S. Mint did a very fine job on the gold Mercury dime. Regardless what anybody thinks, The Mint is the "boss", And sees this as the 100th anniversary of an icon COIN. Yes, COIN. Whether the coin does well or NOT, This is the way in the Mints "eyes" sees this coin. imo, This should be a popular 3 coin series... Cheers...

It is actually a coin & you could spend it at a store for a ten cent piece of gum.
    But why would you????

I agree about the execution, but I would disagree it's not a coin. I consider silver eagles to be a coin as well though
