This looks like the collar on the obverse but not sure. Couldn't locate another example to compare to.
I'm guessing the condition of the coin makes it insignificant even if it is. Just wanted to see if I identified it correctly.

    Thanks

It looks like it might be but I gave it a quick glance. I would say that the significance does not change based on the grade of the coin, only the value. I enjoy any sort of error coin :)

Yes, a nice clash and if I'm seeing correctly, also on the obverse behind the head under Liberty? A keeper regardless of the condition.

    Thanks for the replies.
Maybe I phrased that wrong. I Love errors and this will not end up back in a coin wrapper, but since I couldn't locate another like it I thought it might be unique..ish. Just a shame about the condition.

I'm still learning how to correctly identify errors and get the language down. I still don't know if something like this is an error, or what it's called if it is. It doesn't appear to be off center since the rim is still intact, but it looks like the word "TRUST" dips under the rim.

I replied before I saw your post. Nice find!
I am indeed an amateur having missed that. Thanks for pointing that out! :)

Akovia I have same thing on a 1986 P. Saw one other googling on internet. They are out there. Cool to see another! IMG_20170720_221223.jpg

Not a mad clash. That would be a misaligned die clash. The alignment looks good to me. Just a die clash. Still a cool coin!!! Definitely a keeper.
