1972 Humphrey Silver Dollar and 2007 James Madison Dollar The political implications are... well, not suitable for discussion here, I suppose.
Brilliant. Hubert Humphrey finally gets his likeness on a coin... as long as he's dressed up as Ike... What was the eBay guy thinking...!
I've never heard of an IKE Dollar being referred to as a Herbert Humphrey Dollar! I've heard of Roosevelt Dimes being referred to as IKE's though. Taken at "face value", this does not present a good argument for those that only want "presidents" on coins.
You should be careful even linking to such political material. Apparently linking counts as discussion now.
And that's one UGO Madison dollar. Could we please go back to '93? Now there was a commem......both dollar and 50 cent in coin silver......worthy to collect.
ARGH lol. Since VP's have largely been bumbling, they should make a VP commem with an odd denomination...like 40 cents, or $1.38.
I needed that laugh!!! I'm picturing the late-night infomercial. "The Gerald Ford Commemorative $1.38 coin -pressed in fine aluminum by the Liberian Mint in Uncirculated condition." Nobody knows why there's one dent in the rim on every coin.
Looks like he was being congratulated for receiving a "10" on the Air Force One Dismount! Dumb bananas! He turns and says, who brought the danged bananas! I specifically said NO DANGED BANANAS! Oh! Really? A 10? Well thank you!
