    Good evening

I purchased about 34 Silver Quarters ranging from 1934 to 1964 two days ago for "melt value" as an easter egg hunt for myself, and found the following 1964 D quarters. I was hoping to get an opinion on them if you all would be so kind.

I think that Coin 1 (first 4 pictures) may be a RPM though it does have some PMD not sure though, Coin 2 (second 4 pictures) RPM?? or MD?. Coin 3 I am pretty sure that it is 1964 d DDR-001. The pictures don't quite do it justice and the doubling is very strong and there appears to be a die break on the Eagle's head .
    Thank you in advance

I'm not sure what the technical/proper term or cause is, but later silver quarters sometimes display a "sheered" mintmark, and is what I'm leaning towards here although better photos could change this (the ones posted become pixelated, and almost look "stretched" when trying to view at a larger size). The second in particular I'd like a better view of. As for the doubling, while I can see what you're talking about, the photo issues make it difficult to say with absolute certainty. At this point though I would say no.

Thank you I will try to post better pics of the 2nd two coins. The Poss DDR hits all the points on the CONECA and Cherrypickers Guide. The pics are just not coming out like I would like. I will try a closer shot and maybe a farther out to see if I can keep it from pixeling.

They all look like machine doubling to me. You should be aware that machine doubling can occur even on the hand-punched mintmarks.

You should also be aware that there are a few grouches here that think I should be less forthright so as not to hurt the feelings of others.

I spent too many years in the Army to be thin Skinned, If I am insulted I can tell, if someone is just "callin um like they see um" it is what it is.

Here are some better pics I think

The first 2 are machine doubling or ejection doubling or whatever you want to call it. But the 3rd sure looks like the DDR to me.. I've been looking for one of those for quite some time. So congratulations on finding one.

I don't think he directly meant you.

As for the mintmark, I see nothing that convinces me there's any repunching unfortunately, but as said earlier, it's not always so simple as saying such a coin is strike doubled if not an RPM.

The second coin though, I think you may be right. I haven't dug out any references or tried to look up markers (something you may want to do just so you're sure), but it's looking good.
