i wonder if my friend made any money of the dimes and if he will buy 300 of these as well. hen do they release?
Oh, no big deal, just 299 honest collectors don,t get one at issue price because of one greedy cheater. Add up all the coins bought by cheaters and I bet every collector could have one that wanted one.
so all the people buying the coins to flip them are cheaters? what about the members of this forum who are also buying extras to sell? they are also greedy cheaters?
The only real way to actually "cheat" is to have several different mailing addresses that you order your self with different payment methods. If someone wants to sell their coins to someone else that is their right and their choice they are the ones who own them.
Apparently mint records say 15 matte proofs were struck in 1916 and 1917. Have any of these ever turned up intact?
Roger Burdette's book I believe states that their are no records about proofs being struck. Breen wrote a couple letters for a few saying they were proofs but he has to be taken with a grain of salt. There was a coin world article a couple years ago about one of the "Breen Proofs" that I believe was in the Gardner sales that NGC and Heritage both said was a business strike.
I saw these for sale at $300 for a 70 on Rick Tomaska,s T V show. I guess the urge to cheat is within all of us, but with the very high mintage, when the HYPE fades, so will the prices.
You should have bought all you could buy then as the gold spot value is over $300. But since they aren't even released yet I take it you're thinking of the gold mercury dime 1/10 oz coin.
Maybe a little crazy about finding the Standing Liberty in proof, but I too am looking for a superb gem B U F H quarter. These bullion issues may add more demand to the entire series, as many collectors still like the silvers. I have a 1917 t-2 in ms62-63 fh, but one in 66 would be nice!
Just found a FH 1917 D Standing Liberty in MS. It's on the way here. Really too bad that this series bypassed proofs.
I have a great idea these coins should be struck in brilliant and matte proof finishes. And all future coins from the mint too. We should eventually move towards something called my coin. We decide and we pay and the mint produces unique coins.
"TBD"... at the bottom of the Mint's Product Schedule: http://catalog.usmint.gov/product-schedule/?cm_mmc=infosite-_-header-_-announcement-_-product schedule&_ga=1.48834723.404332514.1446916421 I'm guessing an early Summer release for the gold quarter. And the gold half dollar soon after Labor Day. No doubt there'll be an official announcement weeks in advance -- with lots of publicity & hype leading to a frenzied opening-minutes release.
most erotic coin of the century that will help sell a few. the us mint is resorting to nudity to sell their coins
