I think your approach/mindset is more simplistic. You don't really care what happens between the start and end of an auction. That's cool, nothing wrong with that if that's your preference. I'm more like @Conder101. I don't want the seller to meddle with the price of their auction. If a seller wants $X than I would rather they do a Buy-It-Now and be upfront about it instead of trying to manipulate bidders.
Wow. You guys have been a tremendous amount of help. Everybody! I really appreciate your responses and for taking the time to help me out with this. Huge! Thank you so much! Auction ends this weekend, so we'll see how things go. Thanks again.
I always suspect those "private listing auctions" as being a cover for shill bidding by sellers and I would like to see eBay ban them. There is no need for them since eBay already protects bidders identities on all listings.
You sound like your saying shill bidding is ok . I won't bid at a private auction with no transparency . Why should I be happy paying more than the next real bidder because a seller is shilling . It's supposed to be a true auction not a rigged one .
I actually wish more higher dollar coins were private listing. If I'm buying a special wrench for my car from an ex con why do I want him to be able to go through my feedback and look at the coins I've been buying? Sent from my XT1093 using Tapatalk
Why are you having valuable stuff from unknown people shipped to your physical address? That's the important question. A smart numismatist has either a PO Box or a Smith & Wesson and a *big* dog.
That's a great question. Idk why. I may just get one. Trust me when I'm home I have no worries. Sent from my XT1093 using Tapatalk
