If you are a group member of Friends of the Coin Show Facebook group, you've already seen this, so ignore the duplicate nature of this post. My son is pretty much a straight A student, so naturally he was a good fit for the ANA's Coins for As program. 3 As on a report card (i believe 1 per period) = 1 Free coin. and FREE A Yearly Gold YN ANA membership. I figured I'd share for those who have kids or grand kids and are not aware of the program. This was the coin my son recently received. A 1944 3 Pence. WWII Era coin from Britain. Pretty cool.
He actually collects right now. He's at the end of his 6th grade year, and I'll actually be surprised if he looses interest. He's just not the girls, cars, sports kinda kid that his other friends are. He enjoys sports, has a girlfriend, but he loves to collect...not just coins but all kinds of stuff. He does like world coins too so this was perfect for him. He's gone to coin shows with me since his 3rd or 4th grade year. Oh...and since I see you have an ancient as your avatar, i'll toss in here that his favorite coin so far has been an ancient roman coin that a dealer gave him several years ago at one of the shows he went to with me. So he may have a thing for the dark side
PJ, you do know that the ANA has another program that allow YN's to earn free ancient coins too don't you? He can earn up to 12 ancient coins I believe. I'm not sure but there may also be a program for early US copper as well.
