If you are selling it to a dealer as junk silver they aren't going to care what it looks like.

Yeah don't do it thinking you'll improve an uber-high mintage junk piece.

Made a slip at the bank today and called cents by their correct name.
Me: I was wondering if you could spare a box of cents.
    Teller: Sure, like quarters?
Me: No sorry, I mean a box of pennies.

Where I dump they don't have a counting machine, they bag the coins in a sealed bag and send them to their coin vault to be verified. I've been coming out short for months now and have suspected the coin vault, but I recently discovered that some of my Loomis rolls are short. The first one I found was short by 3 halves! The formed ends of the roll were perfect and un-tampered with but it was visibly much shorter than a standard roll. Today I just picked up 2 Loomis boxes and I immediately made a close inspection of each roll and found 8 rolls that were each short by 1 half and had perfect undisturbed ends, just a slightly shorter roll. They are so close to full length that one could easily not notice without careful scrutiny. I brought all the unopened short rolls back to the bank and we verified that they were sealed original wraps, then we open and counted, each one coin short. They have contacted Garda and reimbursed me for the shortage. Moral of this story: Even original wrapped and sealed rolls from sealed boxes are not guaranteed to contain full value, check them closely!

    Box of Halves:
    1967P
    1968D
    1969D

All three of them came in the same role.

I don't know man, I had the box with 1 short roll and eyeballed it immediately after picking it up. Halves are thick. I've always noticed short rolls.

Maybe it's just me, but to me the rolled paper on the ends seems to hide the fact that the stack of coins within is short.

They wanted me to return the whole box for their case but there were 3 40% silver enders in it, maybe more inside ...hmmm ....no thanks!

Just got a box of halves. There was 51 roles in it! Makes up for the one I was shorted a couple of weeks ago.

Nice one. I've had that happen a few times with cents and nickels but never a roll of halves.

The stuff I get is also quite dirty. I figure, since its junk silver anyway, to give it a bath. If you're planning on storing it for a long, long time, then I like the idea of a bath. No need to store the filth too.

The box was bulging on one side. Thought it looked odd because they taped it as it had a tear in the coard board. None of the rolls had been tampered with.

actually that doesn't look all that bad. Just covered with lots of grunge. You can see the wheat ears are still separate lines.
    nice find!

2 Boxes of Halves: 7 40%ers Anytime it's over an ounce of silver it's picture worthy!
