Gold dime reaches 'currently unavailable' status on...
by William T. Gibbs The 2016-W Winged Liberty Head dime reached "currently unavailable" status less than 90 minutes after it went on sale April 21. Coin World is checking with United States Mint officials for confirmation that the coin has sold out.

Likely has, some CC will get rejected and they'll find a few that multiple ordered and cancel it. There is a chance it was a glitch but generally that means their computers sold out and will be a question if all orders go through

What's going to be the difference between an MS70 coin and a so called SP70 when the mint only minted these in one finish. The coin you want imo is one that goes proof like for this issue if the grading services are assigning other labels that's pretty gimmicky imo and likely being done for marketing/sales purposes of the big guys.

Anyone got a shipping notice yet? I got my first email, order received, at 9:04am. I got the second email, order confirmed, at 9:50am. I've seen a couple of scattered posts, on other web sites, that say they received shipping confirmation.

On the Mint website my order status changed from "PROCESSING" to "SHIPPED" around 5pmET today.

About an hour later, I got an email notification it shipped.

    Two coins, 4121xxx.

But UPS says it hasn't arrived at their facility yet. You know, the usual rigmorale.

    Estimated delivery is Wed 4/27.

I do have a question is how the heck these big guys can buy so much when the US Mint only limit 10 per household ??

People buy for them. Employees, family members, friends, putting buy offers out ect.

There was a thread, on these very forums, guarantteeing a certain price for each dime ordered on behalf of the poster.

That thread has been removed but it is not an uncommon occurrance.

    It goes like this:

I solicite you to order 10 coins for me at which point I agree to pay you x amount of dollars over and above the US Mint release price AND agree to send you a shipping label once the coins you ordered for me arrive.

Once you order the coins, you send me your order number.

I ask you to notify me when the coins arrive so that I can forward a shipping label to you.

You mail me the coins and then I send you a check for the agreed upon price after I receive the coins.

If I can get 10 folks to buy into this, I'll have 110 coins presuming I've ordered my 10.

It's quite simple to game the US Mint rules BUT you must have enough capital to cover any potential losses. Meaning, you must have buyers lined up or at the very minimum, a dependable customer base.

Heritage Auctions used to send out these solicitations, via email, to their customers.
Modern Coin Mart used to do the exact same thing.

Had notification sent by Mint, wanted to purchase but figured I'd do it later, went back online later in day and supposedly Mercury Dime was all sold out.
Now I see different coin shops selling them for $300 -425 depending on certification & grading. Seems a little heavy for a $205 coin, I guess I'll wait a year or more when I'll find it somewhere for $250. It's funny just like The Coin Chronicles which when limited prices shoot through the roof for a moderate product. Oh well...

I ordered at 1100 CST. MINT HAS SHIPPED MY 3 COINS. I plan on purchasing 3 ea of the 25 cent and 50 cent coins. Hope there is a display case for the 3 coins!

I haven't seen anything specific for the Centennial coins. But there are plenty of existing display cases to choose from.

One idea: Get a 6-coin case to display TWO sets of coins. Then, you can show the Obverse and Reverse.

Lots of choices from many vendors, like these:
