At 205.00 it's a bit steep. Now I am having trouble justifying buying even one of them. UGH, if it was around 175.00-180.00 that would be great. Here's to hoping gold takes a bit of a dive within the next week. I wanted at least 2. One to grade and keep and the other, well why not? LOL

Well... I am in for the full 10. I might even have some sent to my parents as well.

I just saw someone sold 3 via buy it now for $225 each shipped. Boy, he doesn't know how to run a business! After fees, he's losing money!

Maybe so but I'm not betting on it. Like I said, I could eat crow but I doubt it. I just don't see these goin up substantially after release. I'll wait for @dcarr to overstrike them to get mine :)

Must have thought they were going to be priced like bullion too. Those 400 pre sale prices don't seem so silly now to make sure you didn't lose money before pricing was released.

Didn't ebay at one time ban people from listing pre-sales?

Don't know, but I seem to recall that there's a specific and detailed set of rules for them.

I see six presales for "mint-sealed boxes of 10" have closed in the $2900 range. Half were Best Offers that knocked $50-100 off the asking price, half struck at BIN prices of either $2900 or $2950. One BIN at $2950 closed without a buyer, and one auction starting at $2800 attracted no bids. (There's an interesting comment on BIN/BO vs. true auction -- buyers turned up their noses at the auction, even though it would've let them buy at a lower price than any of the sold listings so far.)

Some of these pre-sales are just stupid. After fees and shipping some of these people will be lucky to retain a $20 profit. I guess that's worth the hassle and risk?

I certainly wouldn't be interested in doing that much work for that little return. Flipping a box of 10 for a $2100 investment (assuming express shipping) that yields $400-500 of profit (after eBay, PayPal and postage to the buyer) seems a lot more reasonable. Don't think I'll be joining that party, though; pre-sales make me nervous, regardless of which end I'm on.

Besides, I'd hate to get condemned as "just a flipper" here. (I'm so much more.)

    $180 release price = $1800 (for ten)

$2900 sale on ebay for sealed box of 10.
    - 10% w/ebay store + paypal = $290
    - $40 for registered shipping
    - $20 for monthly membership to eBay store.
    - $1800 coins
    = $740 profit

That's my math. Doesn't seem bad to me.

    Release price is $205 (for spot gold $1200 - $1250): https://s3.amazonaws.com/public-inspection.federalregister.gov/2016-08702.pdf

Still not a bad deal for ebay sellers -- assuming they can get $2900 for 10.

  16. I am all in for as many as I can buy...

That's not a bad return for those. I bet a couple of those 240-260 presales will end up getting canceled by the sellers or they're kicking themselves right now

Count me in as one of the presale boxes of 10. I got a little over $2,900. Makes me nervous though... what if the buyer decides to return them, then I am stuck with them? Should be at least $400 profit by my estimates.

Understandably nervous -- especially if you're selling unopened mint box. That is, hopefully your return policy prevents the buyer from opening the mint box, cherry-picking the best 70-grade candidates, and returning the rest.

Has anyone found the "diameter" posted of each coin? It does not look like they will be the same size as the original coins. That would have been a dream com true.

The dime is slightly smaller than original size. I believe I posted the 'specs' earlier (in this forum) when I mentioned that I wouldn't have to use the microscope, just my glasses......
