Hey remember the tube testers they used to have in grocery and department stores?

A blinding flashbulb from an old camera being called a nuclear explosion? Hmmm, I never heard of that.

Even though we all knew the duck and cover thing was pretty much useless, I remember the adults taking it very serious with us kids. I don't know where you lived during the cold war but I had neighbors who built fallout shelters in their basements during the Cuban Missile Crisis! Ask your parents about it, I would be surprised if they said it was bull.

I actually did like the ASE sets until the last one and did enjoy the baseball coins. I guess I should have said "Remember when the mint consistently made something worth buying."

Now it's the cable repairman. He's at my house more often than the TV guy was. On topic: Do you remember when half dollar coins actually circulated?

I remember that Miss Hill always seemed to pick the day that a drill was going to be held to wear a short skirt. That always helped.:D

I bought a fishing reel with my silver and then they started the modern coins. An Uncle vacationing in the Rio Grand River area in Texas said he was getting silver coinage two years after silver was taken out of circulation. Those small towns were still using the coinage from the older years. He gave me some. So all of that was stolen some years later. I remember the silver coins, steel pennies and other strange things I had no knowledge of. John D.
