One did. They're called the United States Mint.

True story: I was at Chicago ANA last year, and some U.S. Mint bigwig needed show credentials. The lady at the desk asked, "Are you a dealer?" The guy said, "No, United States Mint." She snapped back, "That would be a 'yes'." Almost peed myself.

Lol. The mint circumvents the Congress very cleverly and makes as many coin designs as it likes. Talk about killing the hen with the golden eggs one feather at a time. If the girl scouts are an indication their comem program is at the cusp of failure.

125,000 max for dime. I think the quarter might be 100,000 and half at 75,000. These max mintage are considered too many. Just like the kenndy 50 anniversary 3/4 oz gold proof and the 2015 one ounce American Liberty high relief gold coin.
Price should be very high as compare to bullion.

I was considering buying one of these suckers until I read the several threads here concerning them.

Maybe it'd be best to just buy some gold bullion and Mercury dimes instead. Great idea, but thus far it looks like bad execution. I guess from the U.S. Mint, what did one expect?

Better not to buy graded slab coins. It might let your fingers burn.

MS 70 FSB would be better. Too bad its looking like that might not happen.

I might go for the quarter, but if the mintage is 125,000 I'll wait.

Just for the record, none of these images we're seeing are photographs, merely digitally done renderings. The only photograph I've seen was a phone snap from Baltimore, and it lacked a certain je ne... Oh crap, it lacked sharpness, okay?

The enclosure at Baltimore didn't lend itself to image sharpness, thick plastic in a brightly-lit room. I didn't even bother trying a pic.

    It wasn't FB.

They might as well be photographs. The strike on the specimens they had out at Baltimore looked exactly like the renderings.

Good to know. Thanks. I remember getting my first look at the "enhanced uncirculated" silver 2014 Kennedy the same way. It was a unique look at the time.

Can you say Perth or Royal Canadian Mint?

In the sense of excess? Point well taken. Don't you just love the SP grade on the dime and the PF grades on the next two. I don't think so.

Too Crazy: Prices range from $276 to $375 for the 19 "Sold" pre-sale ebay listings.

And right now, there are 50+ "Active" listings -- a few selling lots of 5 or 10.

Point is, a quick sell-out seems increasingly likely.

It's tempting to buy the HH limit. But no... I plan to buy only 2 coins. That's enough for my collection.
