good call => not bad, especially for a young dude!! (my green-girl avatar is merely a sweet memory from growing-up)

=> yah, my avatars usually have less relevance than my coin-posts!! (and that's sayin' somethun!!)

Hope you're having a nice weekend, noname

Yes I did, through another CT member, John Anthony. It is a great coin, and holds a special slot in my collection.

That's interesting, so Doug Smit gave/sold this siliqua to John Anthony, and he sold it to you?

I have several of Doug's coins through this arrangement. I collect mainly from an historic approach, as opposed to from a numismatic approach. I love Republican Rome's history and struggle to ultimately become a world power. I focus on Roman Republican coins, with the majority of my collection being from the Republic or those entities that interacted or were in conflict with Rome (Carthage, Makedonon, Celtiberia, Italia, etc.). However, there are several nice quality or different coins that really spoke to me that I have acquired. Among them have been several from Doug through John. They all have a great home and are really appreciated by me. I am only the steward for them, but I really appreciate them...
