Is this a retained cud, die crack, or something else? And before someone says jewelry piece... the 1914-D $2 1/2 is made with the flattened circle around the rim. It has possibly been cleaned, but the line is not from jewelry. Thanks!
If I may suggest send it in the cuds on coins see what Mr. Neff has to say and I don't mean you have to send the coin in just the photos. \V/
Yes sir cuds on coins.com since my dyslexia keeps me from learning how to copy and post links even though I've done it 100 times but I just can't retain it, I'm sure one of our other members will give you the link. \V/
Sir I need to make a correction it is cuds on coins@aol.com, this is the email address you'll be sending the photos in on
Everything start to wear, lettering, stars, date, details on the Indian and his head dress .. everything around the horn is inverted for striking too . To me, this coin looks in ms-62 or 63 shape too . I'm just not seeing the wear on the die for a crack or cud ... Which is good for you, if you own the coin ?
Like I said Mr. Neff on cuds on coins is always looking for new cud , just email him the photos and it usually takes him a couple weeks he will get back with you on your submission. And if you want to get it slab that's another story I myself unfortunately having one slab at this time. I myself am not a big slab fan, whichever way you decide to go good luck. \V/
Where is the cud on this coin, I think it's on the reverse, only because the reverse is on the graded side of the slab . Anything under 65 is a MS-coin and anything 65 or above is a BU-coin . The original coin you posted is a early die state then this one .
