2011 D Dime with Ragged Edge Planchet

    The edge is rough but does not look like PMD. There are no damage marks at the edge. I would assume this had something to do with a bad planchet during the strike or a cud of sorts.

    But it might be a Defective Planchet.. maybe

    Ha, I just finished my first! I need a few more before I start seeing the good stuff. :dead:

    Cud? No, the edge has had an acidic reaction to something and dirt has got into the porosity!

    This is post strike damage. A cud would leave metal above the normal surface and there would be evidence of an incomplete planchet in the reeding at the site in question
