I got $20 in quarters from the bank. 2 $10 rolls. When I opened up the first one I found what you would typically expect from circulation rolls specially from a small town in the mountains. Some G.W. pre 99 variety of years (sadly 65 the oldest). A variation of fist and second edition states. However when I opened the second roll... I found $7.25 in '15 north Carolina, $1.50 in '15 Louisiana, $1 in '15 Nebraska, and just one lonely '15 new York... now it is probably nothing special but was not what I was expecting from a random bank roll... it was not one of the official sealed roll and it was kinda loose. Regardless of frequency I would like to hear others thoughts on the matter. Thank you for reading.
Seems like junior got into his Dad's state quarter collection, or whoever collected them found out they will only be worth 25 Cents a piece like forever and decided to roll them up for cash now.
Nothing too unusual by the sounds of it. I've found rolls that have been comprised of nothing but circulated state quarters before. I surmise someone collected them for a while and then decided to roll them up and spend them. It could well be the same thing with yours.
First I would like to thank everyone for their replies. Just a day or two prior I learned about the 2015 atb silver quarters... I didn't get my hopes up because I don't have luck like that. Thought I should check just in case. Here is a picture of the roll.
I was meaning check with the forum and see if anyone thought there might be more to it. Not get the coins checked. Everyone seemed to confirm it was nothing special. so I have not pursued them any further. If you that's what you mean? If not I am not sure what I am missing?
The roll is of the type available at Walmart or most any store along the same lines, so it is indeed nothing special. There seems to be a lot of varieties popping up in the series, so if you want to check if any has been discovered in the ones you have, or set them aside to check down the road is up to you. If you simply like and want to keep or spend as any other quarter is also up to you. Do what you like and not let what anyone else thinks or does influence it. As for the assumption that, every time something even remotely away from the norm is found, it must've come from some raided collection, don't buy into it. Like the other fella said, it's possible someone had set them aside as many people do when a new coin is released, grew tired of or needed the money, and spent them. There's a thousand other possibilities much more than junior stealing poppa's coins.
I was at the coin show all day and yes there is more to it . If you ever find the rolls that I talked about . Here's what's left of a full roll of statehood quarter and everyone is a DDO . Here's what's left of a full roll of statehood quarter and everyone is a DDO and 3 of all these DDO have DDR with the DDO . Both of these rolls came from Walgreen too . To bad I didn't get there earlier when they were full rolls .
Check your Homestead quarters for DDRs in the windows and pump. You might get lucky and find one or two.
