I don't have my notes from the Baltimore Coin Expo with me... who are some dealers that might be able to help me track down some coins (half cents, large cents, Fugio) for my U.S. Type Set? If it matters, the coins would have to be lower grade, but still problem-free. The names I'm remembering from the show are Doug Bird and Tom Reynolds. Open to other suggestions as well, especially recommendations from prior purchases, etc. Thanks.
Yeah, I was going to suggest Tom Reynolds, but you already have him. Nice man and nice coins. "Nice" prices, yeah, but you can't have it all.
Jack Beymer. I don't know if he'll be at the show, but he does do quite a few shows a year. His prices are on the high end, but his grading is fair and his coins are generally quite high quality. He also tends to have some of the rarer pieces an EAC collector might be after.
For lower grade coins I really like Tom Deck, his prices are very fair: http://largecents.net/forsale.php He updates monthly and sends an email out if you are on his list. Otherwise the usual you have already gotten plus I will add Kevin Vinton for colonial coins: http://www.indeetlib.com/
Thanks Mike. Chris was the 3rd name I couldn't remember from the show. I can't find a website or a phone number for Bob Grellman. Do you have it handy?
Doug, I just purchased his book and was communicating with him via email. The email is valid and he will get back to you. He seems to be very nice, as he told me never to hesitate contacting him to attribute a variety if needed. I would say send him an email and go from there.
Bob Grellman is not a dealer per se, he is the business partner of Chris McCawley. No insider knowledge on my part, but based on my observations Chris is the dealer and Bob was/is the auction cataloger.
Rick Beale of 900fine. Although I've never bought one from him, he's never stopped trying to educate and amaze me with his EACs.
