Needing some help please for a coin i found under an old floor today. The coin has on one side edwards head without the crown and around its rim "edwardvs vii d:g:britt omn :rex f:d:ind:imp" On the other side is a rider on a horse like the queen elizabeth ones. The problem i'am having is it is dated 1900 on this side of the coin and i cant seem to find any other coin with edward on it from this date? Any help and approximate low- high valuation please?
Best i can do with my phone sorry. Can post clearer pics tomorrow hopefully. Is it a pretty common coin? Seems strange to have it dated 1900 when Queen Elizabeth was still ruling?
You mean Victoria. I'm assuming because of that fact it's a fantasy piece or a counterfeit. Is it sovereign or half-sovereign size?
Er...Edward VII was king between 22 January 1901 until his death in 1910. So it really is not real - it has the likeness of St George and the Dragon that is seen on a British Sovereign (or half sovereign).
Good day. I also have the coin. It is dated 1900. I did email an the photo to baldain valuers in UK and they told me that THE COIN IS A FAKE and holds no real value.
